Learn Squared Podcast, Episode 100

When I was 26, I had decided mid-college that I wanted to pivot from graphic design to re-channel everything I know about art, design and life into concept art, the sci-fi scene and photo-bashing in concept art was having its renaissance in 2016, I wanted to jump in on that, little did I know it would be a hard and long road to journey into being a Concept Artist.

I was advised that joining Feng Zhu Design School was the only way to become a professional, but I was stubborn (and broke), and no way I’d have the 20,000$ to pay for another college degree, no matter who taught it. I decided to become self-taught for a year while taking courses at Learnsquared. Learnsquared filled the gap in online schools, where I found a community of individuals seeking the same as I did: a job in the industry and a collective of artists to learn from, and even to inspire.

The first course I took was Alex Figini’s - Concepting Science Fiction Characters in Zbrush, and nine years later, I joined the Learnsquared Podcast for Episode 100, having a few AAA game titles and movie credits under my belt.
