I Reviewed 40 Concept Art Portfolios — Here’s What You’re All Missing

A few months ago, and after I let the video-games and entertainment design community know I’d be reviewing concept artists' portfolios to support them through the current setbacks in the market and help them prepare for their future careers.

The response was massive, and I ended up reviewing over 40 portfolios!

It was both a pleasure and a hustle to go through all of them. I’ve uploaded a video compiling the most common pitfalls artists tend to make. There are a lot of patterns I observed, from not investing enough in design and research to needing a better grasp of composition and color fundamentals.

If you're starting out, I highly recommend taking a look at others' mistakes; they often serve as valuable learning material for your own journey.
Thank you all for joining!

It's important to give back once in a while to the community that also helped me, with tutorials, free and paid, industry networking events, and random nice comments on my work. So let's go for it.
